The Hook and Glove is a short and pleasant drive from Salisbury set in one of the prettiest villages in Wiltshire. We are dog friendly in both the "snug" bar and the restaurant area and we guarantee to make a fuss of our canine visitors.
Farley is unique in having a large Christopher Wren inspired church (which is open to visitors) and the stunning Grade 1 "Farley Hospital" built at the same time.
A footpath from the pub opens directly onto open fields with lovely varied walks (including bluebell woods in the spring).
We have two log fires in the winter.
You can be assured of a very warm welcome and friendly, informal atmosphere.
Our restaurant is consistently highly rated and has won awards.
We have a changing daily menu with all food cooked to order.
Light lunches, ciabattas, sandwiches, bar snacks and soups are available in both the snug bar and the restaurant.
The fishmonger calls daily and our meat is sourced from the New Forest and local Wiltshire butchers.
Our shortcrust plate pies are hand made by a local family team, with varied fillings (steak and kidney, wild boar, chicken and asparagus are among the more popular)
As well as our daily changing menu, we always offer three Sunday roasts with all the trimmings (£13.50).
Our portions are generous so we do offer smaller helpings to suit smaller appetites.
We have a very sunny large front "watch the world go by" terrace (although to be true there is not a lot of "world"!)
To the rear we have a beautiful fenced garden with far reaching stunning country views, safe for children and dogs, a petanque pitch (free of charge) and a large terrace for those who prefer to enjoy the view away from the hustle and bustle.
We have a daily changing home cooked menu. We offer delicious "proper" pies, fresh fish daily, home made curries and cassoulets and Sunday roasts. There is a light lunch and bar menu in addition. We offer generous portions but are always willing to cater for smaller appetites.
We have Fullers HSB and Sharp's Doombar as our regular beers on tap, with one or in the summer two, local guest beers from local breweries. £3.90 per pint.
Our core ciders are Aspalls and Stowford Press at £4.10 per pint. Draught Guinness at £4.75 and the very popular Estrella Galicia lager at £4.50 per pint.
Our wines are all carefully sourced and bought in with a keen eye as to the best value/quality available at point of purchase which enables us to price our wine at an "across the board" price, currently 175ml at £4.30, 250 ml at £6.30 and a bottle at £18.
We also stock a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks andspirts
